Favourite Colour Combination

Hi there, hope you are all well and not too badly affected by the recent snow falls?

Here is another page in my creative journal but this time using my favourite colour combination. If you haven't already guessed its red, black and white.

The red background is Dylusions Postbox Red, I adore this spray soo much although it does make my hands look a bit like i have committed a horrendous crime, lol.

The girl is from The Paper Shelter and is called Cirque. She is coloured with Pro Markers in Black and Poppy. Her skin is blush and her eyes are Duck Egg.

The writing is my own, inspired by the awesome Dyan Reaveley. The quote is one i found on the Internet.

The flowers around the edge are from a Dylusions stamp set called Background love, its stamped with jet black archival ink and the centres are coloured with Dylusions ink Black Marble.

Thank you for stopping by, please feel free to leave a comment.

Mad Hatter Tea Party

This is a double page spread in my creative journal.
Recently we had a family day out to Whitby (we love Whitby) and we had tea at the Mad Hatter Tearooms. This page was inspired by that visit.

The background is paint dabbers Cloudy Blue and Sailboat Blue. I kept the background simple as i wanted the rest to be busy.

The Mad Hatter and Alice are both from Graphic 45 Halloween in Wonderland collection. (This collection is no longer widely available) The toadstools are from Dylusions set Doolally Dorris and the flowers are also Dylusions but from the Background Love set.

The Caterpillar is from The Octopode Factory and is coloured with Dylusions inks.

The tea party and pumpkin are again from Graphic 45 papers and cut out.

My pic was taken inside the tea rooms and i just printed it out on normal copy paper in grey scale.
My hat is a stamp from the Dylusions set Doolally Dorris again. I stamped over a piece of the Graphic 45 paper and cut it out.

The eye border is from Dylusions set Inbetweenies. The bunting is a Dylusions stamp from Bags of Bunting set and stamped onto Graphic 45 paper again.
The small caterpillars are from Dylusions set Bits of This and coloured with Dylusions inks.

New

Morning and welcome to another challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges. This fortnight its 'new', so it could be a new stamp, a new techniques a new area of craft etc.

Here is my interpretation:
This page is a bit of a homage to an awesome canvas created by the fabulously talented Kaz Hall for CHA. I totally fell in love with Kaz's red and black creation (think the red did it, lol). I wanted to have a practise before i had a go at it in red and black and this is my attempt. It is in no way half as good as Kaz's but i am really pleased with the way it turned out.

So this is another page in my 'creative journal'. (the best journal ever) The background is created with Dylusions inks and stencils. The border is a Dylusions stamp from the 'bordering on the edge' set which i just doodled over with a white gelly roll pen.

The leaves are created with a stamp from the Dylusions set 'around the edge' and are coloured with Dylusions ink Vibrant Turquoise and Bubblegum Pink.

The face is a new stamp for me from Tim Holtz Classic collection.

Thank you for looking.

Black and Bright

Morning all.
Over at Crafty Boots this fortnight the challenge is 'Black and Bright', so use black and a bright color...simples.

Here is my interpretation.
This is a page in my Dylusions journal, i adore this journal and would highly recommend it to anyone (think i have recommended it to a few, lol).

The background is Black Marble and Squeezed Orange Dylusions sprays.
The border across the bottom is a Tim Holtz one from Classic 6 set and the side border is from 'Further around the edge by Dylusions.

Unsure why this pic has come out this way round but it doesn't seem to want to move either. Anyhow the spider is from stampotique, i love this little guy.

The writing is my latest achievement, cant believe i have finally got the hang of it, but i have and i love it. The style is from Dyan Reaveley (HRH Queen of Dylusions). It is with a black POSCA pen and edged in Sakura white Gelly Roll pen.

This lovely lady is the one and only Curious Corrin (she is my favourite stamp) from the Dylusions stamp set of the same title. Her hat is from Bags of Bunting set and her wings are from Ruby Rainbow set.
She is coloured with Pro markers in the following colours:
Orange, Tequila Sunrise, Bright Orange, Burnt Orange, Pumpkin, Sky Blue.

The leaves are from further around the edge too and i bleached out the black ink using water in a water pen and once dried went over with the squeezed orange.

Thank you for looking and good luck with the challenge.

Finished projects

Hi there.
Just a quick post today, just to show you that i finished my projects from Art From the Hearts Preview day.

The bunting was from a class with Kate Crane and the bottle wrap from Kaz Hall's class

This is it on the bottle, ready to go to my sisters house.

On 23rd December i did my last 'beginers' Art Journaling Class, myself and a couple of others are now intermediate!! Any way these are a couple of pics from that class.

Here is my page finished. Apparently this class has now been running the same for 4 years. I can understand why as it really was fabaroonie.

When we had made our trees we swapped trees so each of the trees on my page are from a different member of the class.

This is the end result on my hands.

Thank you for stopping by. Take care.

New Year, New Challenge

Happy New Year everyone. I hope that your Christmas break was a good one for all concerned?
I have decided to have a go at Kate Crane's Art Journal Calendar this year. I have seen a lot of my crafty pals doing it but never got going with it, so i thought, new year, new challenge.
Here is my January Calendar piece.

I have used a new Dylusions journal for this. The base is Vibrant Turquoise Dylusions spray.

The writing is free hand, my latest achievement, so pleased i have finally got the hang of it.

The numbers are from a stamp set from what was formerly Dimensions Fourth.

Each square is 1.5". I spritzed water through my Dtlusions Starry Starry Night stencil and once dry i went over the snowflakes with a sakura gelly roll pen, just to highlight them.

This lady is Curious Corrin from the Dylusions stamp set of the same name. She is coloured with black marble Dylusions ink. The black and white idea came from Dyan, as during one of her journal classes she was colouring her tags with black and white images.

I have to say i have had so much fun with this, lets hope i remember to do every month!

Thank you for looking and take care.
