Tag/Invitation

Morning all. Crafty Boots Challenge this fortnight is an invitation/ tag. I couldn't make up my mind so chose to share both.
This invitation was created for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. All Mum said she wanted was something simple but effective.
The card is a 6x6 blank, the corner stamp is from what was Dimension Fourth and is stamped in Fired Brick Tim Holtz Distress ink.
The centre is again a stamp from what was Dimensions Fourth, stamped in black memento ink with the butterfly and the flower coloured with Poppy pro marker pen.

My second piece is a No 12 Manila tag from Ranger. The background is all Dylusions inks in squeezed orange, pure sunshine and postbox red. I also used cut grass through the Dylusions stencil let it snow. The black is through the same stencil but was done with pitch black paint dabber.
The stamp around the edge of the tag is from the Dylusions 'Inbetweenies' set.

The main image is a bit of a mixture of 'body parts' and are from the following sets:
Head - Bits of this
Hair - Doodle Parts
Wings - Doolally Dorris
Body - Ruby Rainbow
The frog is from Pondering Petunia and his hat is from the Christmas accessories set. The words are from the Christmas words and the baubles hanging from the coat are from the Christmas border set. The baubles are attached with alternate red and green brads that i found in my stash.
Finally i added some red stickles to the ends of the eyelashes and to the bobble on the frogs hat, giving it a bit of Christmas bling.
Thank you for looking and good luck with the Crafty Boots challenge.

Inspiration/CASE study

Stampotique's Challenge this week is to be inspired by someone else's work. I chose a piece by Magda Polakow as my inspiration. Her journal page with the' line up' stamp struck a cord and so here is my creation.

The background was created with mop up of Dylusions inks.

Here is the 'line up' stamp surrounded by spiders from Dylusions 'bits of this' stamp set and Holly border from Xmas borders stamp set, again from Dylusions.

Here is 'Tangled Enthusiasm' and 'Daniel's tree topper' stamps.

The border was created with a stencil from Dylusions called ho ho holly.

Thanks for looking.

This is my latest page in my new Dyan journal, ooh its fabaroonie to work in.
Anyway this page was created with a background of Dylusions inks in Cut Grass and Fresh Lime.

This image is the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Octopode Factory, isn't she fab?
She is coloured with the following pro markers:
Blush, Poppy, Crimson, Pine, Lime Green, Pale Pink, Tea Green. Her wings are from the Dylusions set Ruby Rainbow and are coloured with Lime Green pro marker. The gems are all from my stash.

This chappy is again from the Octopode Factory and is Santa & Baby Ruddy. He is again coloured with pro markers, the same as above but with Burnt Sienna and Tulip Yellow extra. His beard, hat and cuffs are glittered with chameleon glitter.

This holly stamp has fast become a favourite of mine and is from Dylusions Christmas borders set. It is coloured with Cut grass and postbox red dylusions ink. Edged with a white gelly roll pen.

The square right hand side border is created from a Dylusions stencil called chequered dots. The wiggly line above it i created free hand (first time i have dared to do this). I drew the holly leaves on with the white gelly roll pen.

The merry Christmas words are from the Dylusions Christmas border stamp set.

Summer becomes Autumn

Hello.
This is my latest journal page. The background i created at the beginning of September at a journal class i took with Dyan Reaveley, we made lots of backgrounds and although i have used most of them, i had lost this one in my book. Oh what a find too as out summer has definitely gone now and Autumn is in full swing.

The background is created with Dylusions ink sprays in Squeezed Orange, Lemon Zest and Postbox Red. The leaves are from the 'Around the edge' stamp set from Dylusions and are coloured with Dylusions inks squeezed orange and melted chocolate.

This little lady is 'Curious Corin' from the Dylusions stamp set of the same name. She is coloured with promarkers in the following colours:
Blush
Pumpkin
Gold
Sunflower
Burnt Sienna.

The background images are created from stencils and stamps, all from Dylusions. 'Letters jumble' stencil, both sizes, 'Diamond of a border' small stencil and 'basic background' stamp set.

The spider is from the 'Bits of This' stamp set from Dylusions.

The words read "The gentle caress of autumn, steals the sultry heat of summer". It is written inside a stamp, again from a Dylusions set called 'write between the lines'.

Home

Morning.
Over at Crafty Boots this fortnights challenge is 'home' and here is my interpretation using a journal page. As its nearing Halloween i thought i would blend the 2 together.

I started by creating the background using paint dabbers in sunset orange, raspberry and sailboat blue. I added some dimension with the harlequin stamp from Dylusions 'backgrounds' stamp set, inked with Venetian orange archival ink.

The border was created with a stamp from the 'around the edge' Dylusions stamp set, stamped in jet black archival ink and coloured with Dylusions inks, London Blue and Bubblegum Pink. The white pen is the sakura white gelly roll.

The castle is from The Octopode Factory and is called the 'Whimsical Castle'. It is coloured with Dylusions inks in the following colours:
Bubblegum Pink
Squeezed Orange
Lemon Zest
London Blue
Pure Sunshine
Postbox Red

The witch is from The Paper Shelter and is called 'Bewitched Nights'. She is coloured with Pro markers in the following colours:
Blush
Pumpkin
Cool Grey 5 and 3
Tequila Sunrise
Tan
Caramel
Cinnamon
Tulip Yellow

The birds are from a Tim Holtz mini set i got a few years ago on QVC and the letters are from what was formerly Dimensions Fourth.

Not sure why this photo is on its side but blogger wont let me turn it around!!! Anyway The small houses are from The Octopode Factory and was free in a Craft Stamper magazine. These are again coloured with Dylusion inks. Using the same colours as above but also Crushed Grape.

The leaves are from 'around the edge' Dylusions stamp set and coloured with Squeezed Orange Dylusions inks.

Thank you for looking and i look forward to seeing your creations over at the Crafty Boots Challenge.

My Way

This week over at the Art Journal Cafe their challenge is music. At the time i was looking at thier page i was listening to Bon Jovi's "Its my life" song, where they mention Frank Sinatra. This page then popped into my head.

The background is created with Pitch Black Dabber. The outside decoration is created with Dylusions stencil - Number Jumble.

The picture is edged with Black Glaze Sakura pen and the dots created with a white POSCA pen.

This is a small tag, again covered with Black Dabber and edged with a sakura White gelly roll pen.

Underneath the tag are the words from Sinatra's song My Way. These are written through a star stencil from the Dylusions starry starry night.

"Yes there were times i'm sure you knew,
when i bit off more than i could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and stood tall,
and did it my way".

The back of the tag has the words from Bon Jovi's "its my life". The lines on the back are from Write between the lines stamp set from Dylusions.

"Its my life, its now or never.
I aint gonna live forever,
i just wanna live while i'm alive.
My heart is like an open highway,
like Frankie said' i did it my way'.
I just wanna live while i'm alive".

The small stars are created from the starry starry night Dylusions stencil and coloured with Sakura gelly roll pen. The word' life' is from Dylusions word love stamp set.
